Resistance Is Not Futile!!!

When laws are made that are contrary to God's laws then we have a responsibility to stand against them and to teach our children to do the same.
An obvious example is the law that gives the woman the right to kill an unborn child.
Of course it's murder...plain and simple! Don't even go down the road that says rape or incest is a good reason to kill an innocent child...or for that matter, poverty, possible deformity, etc. Let God decide the life or death question. Adoption is always a great answer to an unwanted baby in a woman's life. Is it acceptable to kill someone that murders an innocent child? I wrestle with this question. On the one hand, God does command that when innocent blood is shed, the person who murders should have his life taken as well: Ge 9:6 Whoso sheddeth man's blood, by man shall his blood be shed: for in the image of God made he man.
The New Testament teaches us to show mercy and wisdom : Mt 10:16 ¶ Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves. I have to say that in my estimation, it IS harmless when we try to protect those that cannot protect themselves.

What about a government that tries to usurp the authority of God? When totalitarianism takes hold and Christians sit about on their complacent rear-ends and say'" Well, you know we have to obey the authorities"...I get a little nervous...and very ANGRY! Since when did God say we are to obey authorities mindlessly? NEVER. That's why Christians have a rule book...the Bible. When laws diverge from the path that the Lord has laid out then we, as Paul, Peter and Jesus Christ himself, must take a stand and at the very least speak out against it.
Ac 12:5 ¶ Peter therefore was kept in prison: but prayer was made without ceasing of the church unto God for him. What was Peter jailed for? Doing the works that the Holy Spirit led him to do....eventhough, it was something the 'authorities' said he had to stop.
Ac 16:37 But Paul said unto them, They have beaten us openly uncondemned, being Romans, and have cast us into prison; and now do they thrust us out privily? nay verily; but let them come themselves and fetch us out.
Paul knew the laws of the enemy. He would stand up to them and eventually was let go in this instance, but first he made sure to defend himself judicially.
Mt 21:12 ¶ And Jesus went into the temple of God, and cast out all them that sold and bought in the temple, and overthrew the tables of the moneychangers, and the seats of them that sold doves,
13 And said unto them, It is written, My house shall be called the house of prayer; but ye have made it a den of thieves.
Talk about civil disobedience! If Christians would act that way when the 'authorities' tried to push their godlessness down our throats, we might have a country that was blessed by God once again.
